Showroom brands Yves Delorme in Lille, decorated as an interior private mansion. Decorator Philippe Daro used a lot of copyright techniques, in an unusual way revealing the beauty of an ancient building.

The oldest French textile workers, YVES DELORME, there are showrooms around the world, but one of the main ones is in Lille (in the north of France). For centuries, this city has remained an important center of weaving, and it is an extraordinary honor to have a “stake” here. They decided to decorate the interior of the showroom not as usual - salon-style, but as a private one, and, moreover, rather extravagant to surprise the visitor. The project involved the famous French decorator and president of the company. GIVEN NOTICE Philippe Daraux. Toulouse by birth, he already at the age of 19 became a professional antiques dealer. The love of antiques and travel in search of them, he carried through his life. They inspire him in creating furniture and accessories and in working on interior projects.

The mansion, which houses the store, a monument of architecture, was built at the end of the XVIII century. The interiors have tried to keep the original decor. For example, did not change the old floors. They were only carefully restored. Also left the old brickwork. She showed up under the plaster at the beginning of the work. Philip decided not to hide it, but, on the contrary, to make it the dominant interior. This reception is especially effectively embodied in the decoration of the stairs leading to the second floor. There are also old fireplaces (in the bedroom and in the dining room).

Philip rethought this interior ... in the spirit of the exterior, that is, he used in the decoration of the interior methods, characteristic rather for the decoration of facades and even street space. This is clearly seen in the living room. High, almost under the ceiling, on the walls hang mirrors with frames, the shape of repeating attic windows. And in the dining room show off street lights. But there is an expansion of the interior. Thus, the former courtyard of the mansion was turned into a hall, blocked by a glass roof. Now there is an additional exhibition space.

The interior as a whole is replete with light and color. It was not so easy to achieve this: the costs of maintaining the old layout are small and rather narrow rooms. Therefore, to “propagate” the light, Philip used hundreds of mirrors. They hung walls in most rooms. In addition, this is a mirror - the interior is ideal for the showroom: the exposition is repeatedly duplicated and visible to visitors from all sides. The collections in the showroom are different, and, accordingly, the walls are painted everywhere in a neutral ocher color, the “chromatic” furniture is selected. She was draped and beaten with bright textiles. Philip is a supporter of moderate combinations, but at the same time he believes that at least one bright color in the interior should be. Moreover, this applies to a house dedicated to the creation of such a bright brand as YVES DELORME.
