SALON: What in this apartment indicates Herman and Klodt?
- First of all, this is the absence of a hard, clear style decision. Here there are absolutely modern things, and stucco, and the author's fireplace. In many ways, the very techniques of the layout can be traced - symmetrical solutions, imperceptible at first glance.
S: What have customers come to you with?
- First, with a specific room. In different apartments have to solve different problems. Often, if we are talking about a modern house built in Moscow recently, the work is carried out contrary to. Take any New York interior, where the proportions of the windows, the height of the ceilings, the alternation of rooms is so good that there is nothing special to do there. We have to work seriously with space, and very rarely there are cases when the soil is fertile for subsequent design. Secondly, customers liked one of our interiors, which were published in SALON-interior in 2003.
S: In my opinion, the apartment turned out to be very intimate, closed in itself ...
- There is a modernity in it, but which as if belongs not "now". In fact, this and many of our other apartments are ready to accept anything. I don’t mind putting African figurines or Moroccan vases here. when customers modify the interior themselves. Take a look at any modern French interior: something from dad, from mom, and the owner bought something. The problem is that there is simply no culture in Russia today. What can grandma give me? Nothing. She has nothing. Yugoslav wall?
S: How long can your interior live?
- In each interior so much soul, effort and time is invested that I want it to exist forever. Although it is clear that ten years maximum. Grow a child. Change owner. Something will fail, something will bother. I would not want this interior to disappear. I would like it to transform.
