The hotel The Balmoral in the so-called baronial style is a famous landmark of Edinburgh

The hotel, now owned by the Rocco Forte Hotels group, was built in 1902 by architect William Beattie. Then the travelers arrived in the city at Waverley Rail Station, and the hotel was intended primarily for them. For the wealthiest, of course. By the way, and still, if you arrive in Edinburgh by train, at the station you will be met by the envoy of The Balmoral, a doorman dressed in kilt, and will deliver your belongings to the hotel (the hotel has such a service). Other traditions that are honored in The Balmoral are reminiscent of the past. For example, a tower decorating a building is crowned with clocks that are always in a hurry. But exactly three minutes, so that the guests are not late for the train. So it was moved from the moment of opening. For a hundred years, the city has changed a lot, but it had no effect on the favorable location of the hotel: it is located on the border of two historical districts, the Old and the New City, and at the beginning of their “Tretyakov Passage” —the streets of Princes. The hotel has more than 100 rooms and 20 suites. Advantages of the latter: views of the Edinburgh Castle, the services of a warning concierge, special conditions in the SPA and restaurants, children's programs. From pleasant trifles: unpack luggage and stroke evening dresses. The restaurant of the hotel Number One, the Michelin-laureate, has completely renewed this year: it has touched both the interior and the menu. They became even more Scottish.
