Textiles and wallpaper traditionally occupy the lion's share of exhibition space, the overall picture is complemented by furniture, cornices, light, and ceramic tiles. This time, many of the key English (and, more broadly, European) brands operating in the luxury segment and therefore attracting the attention of interior market professionals were presented. The architects and decorators were pleased to meet with their colleagues in the pleasant chamber environment of Decorus, attended master classes and lectures and, of course, discussed the leading interior trends. If to summarize, then the main trend can be highlighted in recent years: the classics and modernity continue to converge. They already exist not in opposition, but rather in dialectic. Therefore, textile decor also "lives" in line with this trend. Beautiful patterns of past eras reinterpreted in a modern way. For example, flowers of the Victorian era are “redrawn” in a free manner, the ornament is enlarged, other, more relevant shades are taken — and the pattern is already perceived as fashionable. Painting in the spirit of the avant-garde, African ornaments, along with oriental ikatas that had faded into the background, all sorts of geometric patterns, drawings that resemble abstract landscapes painted in watercolor, all this looked vibrant and lush together. And it was thought involuntarily: “What if all this is taken and mixed in a real interior? It will be good! ”A separate island in the ocean of eclecticism and postmodernism — exact copies of textiles from the designs of William Morris, replicas of ancient French tapestries, hand-embroidered fabrics, a traditional Scottish cell. These eternal things look very modern today.
