The best library in the world

The new library of the Monterrey Institute of Technology was named the “Best Academic Library in the World” in 2018. Authors: Sasaki Associates Inc, GLR Arquitectos, RDLP Arquitectos and Convirtus.

The building, located in the Mexican city of Monterrey, is recognized as the best by the International Association for Interior Design (IIDA) and the American Library Association (ALA). Every two years, these two organizations evaluate aesthetic, creative, and functional achievements in library design. In the interiors of the university building, students can also freely spend time in the dining room, on the terrace and in the conference rooms. The library stores 350,000 books and has 2500 registered users.
