Fluxland: mirror boat on the thames waves

Cyril de Commarque created Fluxland - an interactive work of art, covering a 25-meter boat with mirrored panels. Fluxland is launched and runs on the Thames during the London Design Festival. After it will be moored and will become a permanent platform for art events. Metal panels forming polyhedrons were faced with an old Dutch cargo ship. The boat was transported to London, equipped with an audio system and everything necessary for carrying on performances, discussions or concerts on board. Mirror surface - part of the artistic intent. The reflection of reality and its refraction in the eyes of the audience is a “field”, which explores the artist de Commark.

The size of the boat is 25 meters.

Fluxland is not only an independent work of art, but also a platform for various performances, concerts and performances. In the course of movement the program on the "ship" will change.

Fluxland runs on the Thames.

The name Fluxland refers to the fashionable art movement Fluxus of the 1960s. The movement proclaimed a merger of all forms of self-expression of artists: music, poetry, painting and others, offering in return complete freedom and the rejection of restrictions.

Talking about Fluxland, Cyril de Commark quotes his idol Joseph Beuys: "Art is the only political force, the only one that is able to liberate humanity." Thus, the artist emphasizes that the main goal of his new project is to erase the boundaries between the usual life and art.
