Alvaro Siza - the living classic of modernism will build its first building in the United States - a 35-story skyscraper in the center of Manhattan. The fact that the New York development companies Sumaida + Khurana and LENY invited Alvar Siz to build a luxury condominium in the West Side was announced last summer. And only now it became known that the project is almost ready and the implementation will start in May. Plan to finish construction in the year of the 85th anniversary of the architect, the Pritzker laureate, in the autumn of 2018.

35-storey luxury home will grow at the intersection of 11 Avenue and 56 of Manhattan Street. There will be a roof garden, a sunbathing area and several private terraces, a swimming pool, a spa and fitness center, a children's playroom, a cinema hall and party rooms. It is planned that the skyscraper will be approximately 80 apartments with one to four bedrooms, as well as several large penthouses.

82-year-old Portuguese Alvaru Siza Vieira won the most prestigious architectural awards, including the Pritzker Prize, the Mies van der Rohe Prize, the Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Venetian Golden Lion and many others. Nevertheless, he began to build outside his native Portugal and the European Union relatively recently - only from the second half of the 2000s. In 2007, his South Korean project, the Mimesis Museum of Contemporary Art, was implemented. In 2008, the Iberé Camargo Foundation’s art center was built in Porto Alegre, Brazil. In 2014, again - South Korea, the campus of the Amore Pacific cosmetics company, and the first project in China - the Administrative "Case on the water" of the Shihlien Chemical Industrial chemical plant. And now the turn has reached New York.
