Victoria Wilmott, daughter of a famous architect and ambitious designer. Her main passion is materials. She likes to combine marble and Corian, stone with wood or painted metal. The youngest daughter of the Parisian architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte (author, in particular, of the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Center in Paris) spent four years studying furniture design at the Royal College of Art in London. Head of the course Dutch designer Jurgen Bey could not understand her ideas. She was very keen on materials, did not like brainstroms and long conceptual discussions, and all the time preferred to spend in the workshops, making prototypes.

Jürgen Bey loved tables telling stories, and she preferred to talk about technology. At one point he said: “I don’t understand you, but keep doing what you’re doing.” She found more understanding with her tutor Michelle Marriott, who helped Victoria bring her Domestic Landscape graduation project to mind: she wanted to turn plastic bottles for cleaning products into objects of high design. She came up with pitchers with a complex geometry, tonal shades of blue and black, and a texture resembling chalk. Victoria thought for a long time what material would be ideal for this dish, and decided that the famous Wedgwood jasper porcelain is what we need. She managed to agree on the production of two prototypes. Then Tools Galerie took care of everything.
