Irina Markidonova and Ilona Menshakova, Sisters Design talk about the most significant project in their portfolio.

“This is perhaps our most adventurous project, which lasted for eight years. We entered it immediately after the end of the “Details” school. We tried ourselves in all spheres of creativity, from architects to florists.
Finishing the interior of the main house on Rublevo-Uspenskoye Highway, we agreed with our customers that it was impossible to stop. Throwing open the windows and doors, we saw a dull picture - against the background of an overgrown forest mountains of sand and clay. There was an idea to offer a complete concept of country life with a landscape in which the spa complex should be organically incorporated: a swimming pool, a hammam, a massage room, and a relaxation room. We wanted to create a single space of home and garden and erase the boundaries between them. This helped us to study landscape design in Holland and Belgium, where we acquired unique skills and knowledge, as well as invaluable experience of the masters of the Wirtz family, Pete Udolf, Martin Weltkamp, Marcel Volterinka.
In our garden there is everything: and a summer kitchen with a fireplace-barbecue, where guests at the bar can have a leisurely conversation with the chef who conjures by the fire; and a meditation room, where you can sit alone in the thick greenery, and a small tea room; and a pavilion with huge tables for a large number of guests and evening feasts; and of course the beach, where there are sun loungers on a wooden deck, where you can lie in the sun near the pool.
Difficulties, of course, were. We discovered a lot for the first time: how to properly arrange a spa, a guest house and a garage on the site, while weaving landscape rooms, how tall beams will look in the center of the site, how materials will behave in our harsh winter and whether the plants that we have planned will survive in the garden. In the process of work, we became very friendly with customers. They turned out to be incredibly interesting, open, easy, not afraid to take risks and, most importantly, it was invaluable for us, they absolutely trusted us. Our relationship has grown into a real ten-year friendship. ”
