Sicis was founded in 1987 in Ravenna, famous for its unique cycles of early Christian and Byzantine mosaics. Today, the annual turnover of Sicis is about 60 million euros.
At the core of the business is the idea of maximizing the potential of technology. Testers are used not only from stone, but also gold, platinum, bronze, steel, as well as innovative materials that allow to make tessera as soft as cloth. Italian mosaicists intensively develop production. For example, before proceeding with the production of glass tesseurs, they go to Murano Island to study the craft of glassblowers.
The specialists of the factory keep their finger on the pulse and do everything to make the mosaic fashionable. The factory can combine age-old traditions with current trends. Therefore, among the designers working for Sicis are world stars: Christian Lacroix, Carla Tolomeo, Patricia Urquiola.
