The luxury resort is open in Mexico, on the southernmost tip of the California Peninsula. Mar Adentro (“The Sea Inside”) is like a dream, a mirage or a surrealist's fantasy: minimalist buildings made of glass and white concrete either hover over the ocean, or float in the haze over its waves.

The resort is located a few kilometers from the city of San José del Cabo, one of the favorite vacation spots for wealthy American tourists, and was built by the famous Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragones. This is his second project, implemented jointly with the developer group Encanto.

Aragones says that when he first came here to inspect the place of future construction, he was shocked by the landscape: the desert flooded with sun and the ocean stretching to the very horizon - this was the most minimalistic landscape he had ever seen, and he decided that is the same concise, pure in shape and color. "Against the background of this landscape, as if taken from dreams, any traditional architecture would seem to be a glaring contrast, and I decided to create my own version here, something unlike anything ... I wanted to bring this oceanic horizon closer to the buildings, let it in with the ocean inward. Thus, the idea was born to fill the space between the buildings with water and achieve the effect of merging the water surface of the pools with the surface of the approaching sea.

“All buildings of this complex open towards the sea, it was created to make you forget the hustle and bustle of the city and plunge into a meditative state while listening to the sounds of the surf,” continues the architect. “Every unit in this complex, every room is a kind of independent universe with its own piece of sea inside.”

Buildings in the resort created by the modular principle. The modules were manufactured at the factory and were assembled and assembled into buildings, villas, and other buildings, in accordance with the architectural concept. The resort, located on an area of 4.7 hectares, includes a hotel in which 143 suites and 30 apartments, as well as 9 villas - you can buy them.

All rooms and suites have full-length panoramic windows overlooking the ocean. The interiors are decorated with furniture from the Italian factory Poliform. The size of the apartments varies from studios with a separate bedroom of 104 sq. M. m to penthouses with an open terrace of 400 sq.m. The villas have three or five bedrooms and large terraces on the roofs.

Interestingly, the temperature and lighting in the rooms, as well as all communication with the staff, are controlled from the tablets that guests receive at the reception. The resort also has a beach club, five restaurants, including Mexican and Japanese cuisine, a bar, a shopping center with boutiques, a spa, fitness and yoga centers, a cinema.

One of the most prestigious local art galleries will be quartered here. In addition, the famous Mexican couturier Carla Fernandez and the famous concert company from Los Angeles Hotel Café will cooperate with the resort.

Room rates range from $ 400 per night for a room of 49 square meters to $ 850 for an apartment of 104 square meters. m, and above.
