“I met a client on the recommendation. My British customer, for whom I made a record-small (14 sq. M) apartment in Chelsea, introduced me to the Thai beauty Salinda, the owner of a cosmetic clinic that has been living in London for more than 20 years.

Salinda bought an apartment on a very picturesque street, in a Victorian house in the center of Chelsea. It is located on the first floor, which means the ceilings were high (4.3 m), a bay window provided the living room with the necessary sunshine in gray London. Personally, I conquered the original fireplace portal, stucco cornice and ceiling rosette. It was obvious that they needed to be preserved.

Apartment of 73 square meters. m consisted of a spacious living room, two bedrooms, one of which, according to the London tradition, is very tiny and now serves as a guest and dressing room, master bathroom, separate kitchen and guest bathroom with shower.

Since the client lives alone, the apartment had to bear the imprint of the female hand, and in its style be elegant and light. Favorite customer blue has become an accent color on the background of a low-key palette. Black floors were a mandatory requirement - the client had dreamed about them for a long time. Fortunately, my tastes did not differ from the tastes of the customer. We both of all metals prefer brass, and gray and blue are our favorite colors.

We had to work very quickly, we only had two months in stock, the date of the move was agreed. In London, the working hours are strictly regulated, at five o'clock in the evening builders at the facility will not be caught. We agreed to work on the Moscow schedule.

The layout remains the same. The kitchen suited the mistress in everything, made small changes to the bathroom, and cleaned up the rest of the apartment to the walls and finished it anew. Sound insulation has become a problem; strict requirements are imposed on it in London, since the floors in all the old buildings are wooden and the audibility exceeds all standards. Soundproof mats, we argued, perhaps, with no less attention than the sofa. They decided to make the guest bathroom classically British, hence the marble mosaic on the floor and the bridge crane. My proposal to visually enlarge the space with the help of a mirror hog was taken with a bang.

The client was busy in her clinic, and she had to confirm some materials in the intervals between receptions, under the watchful eyes of curious patients. Much was stated by e-mail; several times Salinde managed to get a meeting at the design center of Chelsea. At the construction site the client came only under the cover of night, when there was no one there. Everything was approved easily and with a smile. Nobody was embarrassed about the delivery of furniture, there was one requirement for the move: to have a ready bed with a Vispring mattress. The longest was waiting for a wardrobe with a transforming bed, the Italians did it slowly and even forgot to ship the headboard.

I am very glad that it turned out to use modern art, it is perfectly combined with the classical architecture of the building. To find the right pictures, we went around a bunch of galleries, Maddox Gallery liked the works of Bradley Theodore (Bradley Theodore): my client loves fashion, but treats her with humor, so "Blue Chanel" immediately won her heart and took pride of place on the mantelpiece .
