Martin Brudnicki was born and raised in Sweden. After studying economics at the University of Stockholm, he moved to London in 1990 to receive an education in the field of architecture and design at American International University. In 2000, he founded his own studio in London, which, 12 years later, had a branch in New York.

Today, the team of Martin Brudnitsky employs more than 70 people, and he, according to professional publications, is on the list of "1000 most influential people in the UK" and "100 leading interior designers."

The recipe for success - the comfort and functionality of the space, multiplied by the attention to detail. According to Martin Brudnitsky, this is the result of education by his father-engineer and mother-stylist: the family house was filled with architectural drawings and elegant accessories. His current sources of inspiration are the Sir John Soane Museum in London, the work with color and print by Dorothy Draper, the work of Scandinavian modernists like Gunnar Asplund or Alvar Aalto.

Examples of Martin Brudnizki Design Studio works include residential apartments Palladio in London. Worked on the project, starting from the history and architecture of Covent Garden. They created a timeless interior with an abundance of natural light, a complex palette and high-quality materials.

5 tips from Martin Brudnicki:

• I pay special attention to where the project is located: building, street, neighborhood. His “past life” is very important. An interior that seems “out of place” is unlikely to be received as warmly as the one that corresponds to the history of the place and the environment. The ultimate goal is to create a space that has always been there.

• I like working with layers - first I create a room, then I look at furniture, fabrics and pillows, then at accessories and, finally, at art.

• I like to create attractive spaces where people can feel relaxed. Therefore, I always add different types of seats in pleasant tactile upholstery: velor, leather ... Furniture and fabrics can be different in each project, but always have to create a feeling of warmth and color, give a feeling of relaxation and care.

• Marble is often present in my projects - a very classic and tactile material. When I touch him, I inevitably think about the history and significance of ancient Greece and modern Italian art. This material has a unique pedigree, but at the same time its simple and clean form allows you to create modern interiors.

• My main advice consists of just one word - “analysis”. Regardless of whether you are starting or already a practicing designer, research is needed. Never copy and always keep abreast of what is happening around you.
