“The house is a reflection of your inner world, namely yours, not mine,” - this installation is given to customers by designer Maria Sedge, starting each project. In this case, her clients clearly understand what they want. Modern, sophisticated people, they travel a lot and understand the quality of life. In their new apartment on Krestovsky Island, the couple wanted to see the interior classic, but without the admixture of that marshmallow and sugary stylistics, which we still often confuse with the classics.

Cabinet The sofa of the German brand Koinor liked the owner of the apartment for the convenience, the author of the project, for creating a contrast to the massive library. On the wall is a print by N. Kopeikin. In the kitchen on the floor is the same Cote d'Azur marble as in the hall, but with a different pattern. “This is a rare stone. When we chose it, the field had just been discovered, it was a novelty on the market, ”recalls the designer. Fabbian lamp. Bar stools Hopper Dutch brand Bert Plantagie. Textiles Schumacher. Nothing transient - everything is only qualitative and timeless: it was assumed that the interior will last a long time. Of course, it had to be in harmony with the atmosphere of Krestovsky, and with the facade of the house: concise, without columns and pilaster, but quite Petersburg in spirit, the building, lined with gray granite, was built by the A.Len bureau.

“First of all, it was necessary to create the right base,” says Maria. - Floors and walls - this is what plays a key role in the perception of space. We have no doubts that there should be marble on the floor. For many, this one word is associated with the palace classics. But Cote d'Azur marble destroys stereotypes. Blue, with gray streaks, picturesque and lively, it looks modern. He was laid in the kitchen and hallway - the impression of the house is created from the doorway. When looking for a tree for the floor in the rooms, they immediately determined: no oak. We stopped on American walnut, a material with a beautiful shade and a noble sturdy texture. " The designer filled the formed base as delicately as possible - so as not to overstep the line beyond which the terry classics begin.

“I am grateful to customers for their appreciation of Baker’s furniture, which embodies modern classical style. Particularly anxious and demanding owner chose upholstered furniture, - for him, the principal was convenience. Many items made to order, inscribing them in the rooms with millimeter accuracy. All together gave the desired result: a harmonious space for a comfortable life. Integral, luxurious, modern ".

Initially, the apartment was successfully tailored, without long corridors and corners - no significant redevelopment was required. “When I first entered the apartment, I immediately appreciated the spacious hallway of the correct square shape. I was impressed by the idea that from it you find yourself in almost all the rooms. Thanks to the developer for this bonus. However, it was necessary to solve functional problems - and we equipped three spacious built-in cabinets of arched lines. As a result, the hallway acquired the shape of a circle. Such cabinets are not noticeable at all. In addition, a circular hall more efficiently organizes space. ”

Cabinet The library is custom-made, which allowed to enter it into a room with a broken configuration. Chandelier IDL. Textiles Colefax. On the floor modular parquet of American walnut.

The specificity of the layout determined the work with the floor. The same breed - American walnut - is interpreted differently. In the living room and bedroom, rooms of rectangular shapes, put a board, in an asymmetrical office and a guest - shield parquet and a French Christmas tree. “All the rooms diverge from the circle - it would be difficult to beat such an arrangement with a single covering. We decided to experiment with formats, introduce dynamics and rhythm. ”

Когда требуются светлые полутона — выбираем Little Greene. Поначалу заказчик опасался белых стен — мы убедили его, что они не совсем белые.
