“What we have done in this collection is a poetic experience. A bathroom is a place designed for relaxation, rejuvenation and real peace. Therefore, design plays a crucial role in establishing communication with the human soul in this intimate, private space, ”says Marcel Wanders.
Marcel Wanders is the author of The New Classic collection. It includes a full range of necessary items - a bathtub, sinks, a toilet and a bidet - as well as furniture and accessories. At the heart of the concept is “the reinterpretation of the classics in modern interpretation”. This is the first collection in the classical style in the assortment of Laufen. Its main feature is thin walls with smoothly bent edges.

Марсель Вандерс.Patricia Urquiola has developed the Sonar collection. She combined minimalistic forms and a natural phenomenon: the thin walls of the models are decorated with a relief pattern, inspired by the sound wave and its interaction with water. Functional internal protrusions and inclined planes created to optimize the flow of water are also perceived as an element of decor.
Konstantin Grcic - author of the Val collection. In 2018, new sinks, toilets, bidets, and the eponymous line of mixers were added to the already existing range. One of the most spectacular new products is a 120 cm wide sink, which can be used as a double one. All Val models feature crisp geometric shapes with smooth bends, thin walls and narrow edges. Despite the impressive width of the new shell, it has retained all these properties.

The patented development of Laufen opens up great opportunities for designers in designing objects. The combination of traditional ceramics is based on koalin, clay, spar and quartz sand. And its most important component is natural corundum mineral, which in nature is also found as sapphire, which is second only to diamond in hardness. Thanks to him, SaphirKeramik has special strength and hardness, meets high hygienic requirements, is resistant to abrasive cleaning agents and mechanical friction, is environmentally friendly and durable, safe and suitable for processing, and most importantly - makes it easy to control the shape of the product.

Thin walls, corners of minimum radii and rounded edges make the models weightless, give visual lightness, allowing you to create collections both in elegant classical style and with rigid geometric shapes. These options were used, for example, by the designers Toan Nguyen and the spouse Palomba.
