The famous designer tandem Doshi Levien presented its new furniture collection, Open Home. The customer was the oldest British company, John Lewis. “The British home is first and foremost a hospitable place,” explains Nipa Doshi, “we wanted to convey its comfort and warmth.” "Home" collection includes 13 items: a sofa, two armchairs, tables, carpets, lamps and consoles. It is noteworthy that the current development is the first British experience for Doshi Levien since the opening of their office in London in 2000.
The design of Doshi Levien is distinguished by eclecticism: for example, a discreet Scandinavian color palette appears in the British collection - noble and deep blue, calm gray and popular graphite. The tables for the living room presented in the collection refer to the minimalism of the 1970s, while the compact lamps remind the developments of the Bauhaus school. Designers often compare their furniture with sculpture: the silhouettes of armchairs and sofas from Doshi Levien are distinguished by their smooth curves and the tactility that is so important for home interiors. All items of the new collection are universal and can exist separately in any interior.
The Open Home collection will go on sale in February 2017.
