The OMA bureau under the leadership of Rem Koolhaas restored the Venetian palace Fondaco dei Tedeschi, located near the Rialto Bridge. The building, today recognized as a monument of architecture, has its history since the XIII century and over the years has been repeatedly installed. The architects managed to make friends in their project history and modernity, making the palazzo convenient for visitors - at the end of 2016 a department store opened here.

Fondaco dei Tedeschi is not the only representative of the “old” architecture who has found a new life with the participation of Rem Koolhaas. In Milan, the OMA bureau reconstructed the building of a former 19th-century factory that became home to the Prada Contemporary Art Foundation.

Thanks to the architectural bureau Antonini Darmon in the Parisian district of Boulogne-Billancourt, a structure resembling an Italian palazzo appeared. The facades of the seven-story residential complex Arches Boulogne are decorated with arched colonnades that protect the building from direct sunlight.

The classical tradition was also addressed by architect Mikhail Filippov. He designed for the FGC "Leader" UP-block "Rimsky", which is being built on Kashirskoye Highway. The two-level "city" is conceived as a space that is not only beautiful, but also comfortable for life: with a safe upper tier, completely closed to traffic, and a developed infrastructure.
