Petr Kholkovsky: “The owners have set before us the planning task of placing a home cinema in addition to a number of required rooms in the apartment. We have developed several options. At some point, it became clear that it was necessary to find a general principle for organizing the space that would help create a multifunctional living room that is suitable for all family members. ”
Modern interior, according to the authors of the project, should be relevant. The project is based on the idea of universality. The space that they created for a young family with a child has the ability to transform: in the center of the living room there is a transparent cubic volume, inside of which a home cinema room is equipped. Partitions of tinted glass turn it into a closed room; if they are apart, the cinema again becomes one with the living room. “Considering that it was necessary to create several zones of different function in the living room,” notes Peter Kholkovsky, “we decided that it would be more correct to divide the room into spaces flowing into one another than to“ cut ”separate rooms.” In the stylistic sense, this is an actual, time-appropriate style that will not become obsolete over the years. The delicate, balanced character of the interior is manifested in neutral colors and finishing materials. Unified, without decorative frills, the furnishings are suitable for every member of the family, architects are sure. The only exception is the children's room. Now this is an elegant living space for a small child. As it grows, the room can be decorated more individually, but the space will remain extremely functional, because this principle was originally incorporated into it.
