This interior, like a jazz composition, has developed from many components: it combined antique accessories from the owners' collection and modern luxury furniture.

This apartment in the city center was chosen by the owners, firstly, because of the location, and secondly, because of the stunning views from the windows. From the very beginning they decided that the perspective in the interior could be built in such a way that it would continue outside, beyond. For them, as for travelers, the relationship between the interior and the environment has acquired a special, symbolic meaning. And the visible signs of travel - all sorts of interesting things, brought from Europe and from Asia - had to enrich the interior, fill it with a special meaning.

“I'm an artist,” says Olga Fradkina, - and for me in the work on the interior is important impressionistic component. I’m close to the approach from the particular to the general, the creative method, when you can go from the details, from some particular, and get a holistic, harmonious interior at the finish. ” In this case, the point of reference was not at all a poetic detail, but rather an inconvenient circumstance - the ceilings too high for such a space, 2.8 meters high. “If the ceilings are low, work with them“ in an adult way, ”says Olga,“ that is, make wide ceiling cornices, caissons, stucco molding — everything you would do on high ceilings. This is paradoxical, but they will seem higher. ” Another important secret that Olga shared with us is that the ceiling should be as saturated as possible. For example, in the open space of the living-dining room it is of terracotta color. (The darker the ceiling, the higher it seems.) The walls of the same color as the ceiling also visually lift it.

An architectural element made of stone, similar to a console, seems to support a coffered ceiling. His role here goes beyond purely decorative: it is also the Italian association, the memory of the Mediterranean. The mistress found him in Italy. This is a facade detail of an old house that was demolished. The terracotta color of the walls and ceiling is subtlely combined with the violet-lavender color of the cabinet, on the shelves of which a collection of figurines was placed. A collection of engravings, including Hokusai’s genuine work, found its place in the hall, study, and bedroom. Antique works of art echoed the dining table with a massive tabletop made of wood, which is about 100 years old - a luxurious modern thing.

Project author Olga Fradkina: “Our customers are intellectuals, art admirers, and avid travelers, as well as owners of a collection of rarities brought by them from various wanderings. They bought a new apartment, in particular, with the expectation that items from the collection could finally be adequately displayed.
