It's no secret that in recent years Moscow has been experiencing a real "Japanese boom." It seems that the hour is not far off when, according to the number of different “Japanese” restaurants, the Russian capital leaves behind cosmopolitan New York and San Francisco. And while the venerable chefs ponder over what else to pamper the Moscow gourmet tempted in the overseas dishes, architects and designers are improving in creating increasingly sophisticated and stylish "orientalist" interiors. Strictly speaking, the design of the Netsuke restaurant, which recently opened on the second floor of the Kristall casino (38, Marksistskaya St.), cannot be called "Japanese" or "Chinese." It is rather refined stylization, sketches "based on" the traditional aesthetics of the East. The European game "to Japan" is light and elegant, not claiming to be fundamental in its approach and not overloading the viewer with seriousness and academic precision. The interior is simple, bright, with a clear preference for natural materials (wood, leather). Glass display cases in which exquisite flowers "live" and, of course, miniature figurines - netsuke; stylized "rock garden", through which you can observe the ingenious manipulations performed by the chefs in the kitchen. The main decorative theme is rice. Rice grains are found in the most unexpected places: for example, on the backs of wooden chairs (furniture "Netsuke" made by the sketches of the author of the project) or with flowers - in glass cases. Pictures of rice grains ... There is no need to add that the rice menu is present no less representatively.
