No matter how much mankind invents artificial materials, the most proven are still those that nature gives us. Interior made of wood, natural stone and glass - a new work by a Petersburg architect Sergey Erofeev

Customers bought a house from a bar in one of the suburban settlements near St. Petersburg. They entrusted the design to the architect Sergey Erofeev. He designed a city apartment for them, and the customers were sure that this time the result would also be excellent. As Sergey says, the clients are solid, well-established people, and he was well aware that too extravagant, “sharp” or even a trendy interior does not suit them. Need a timeless interior, calm, somewhat classic, well made, from natural materials.

Wood is a very active material in the decorative plan. Slightly mistaken with the tint - and the tree "died" under a layer of paint, a little flawed - the log texture will suppress the rest. The architect used bleached, with the effect of aging, tinting, which made the texture of the tree more complex, more noble. The walls turned out as if in a haze, through which the pine wood beautifully shines through. Oak floors and doors also made whitewashed to create a seamless, sophisticated atmosphere. The color scheme of the interior brightens from floor to floor. So, the basement (study library, Turkish bath) is decorated in darker colors, and thanks to the light wood and large windows, the mood of the first floor (living room, dining room, kitchen) is light and airy. The second floor with private rooms is designed in similar colors and textures. The only thing that stands apart is the home cinema, located next to the living room, whose design is built on contrasts and bright colors. Cheerful shades are present in the design of the facade: olive-green and terracotta-red tones look harmoniously against the background of the surrounding landscape.

Project author Sergey Erofeev: “I wanted the owners first of all to be cozy and comfortable here. House with a homogeneous wooden structure. It is therefore very important that the interior was a change of impressions. I used different textures, finishes, worked in contrasts "
