Angelo Dong, an Italian American, first made a name for himself on interior design, and only then engaged in design, textiles and furniture, founded the eponymous brand. A similar career passed and the current creative director of the brand, decorator Chuck Chuning, continues to maintain the tradition DONGHIA. For example, a sofa Manhattan, designed by Angelo Dong in 1970 for the New York apartment of fashion designer Ralph Lauren. In 2009, with the filing of Chuninga who found archived sketches, Manhattan was once again put into production. Sofa, by the way, "autobiographical": seat made deep enough, as the wife Lorena liked to sit on it with your feet, and Dong took into account when designing it.
