This is my main pride - Piranesi, - says Vsevolod. - Well, if not him, then surely his workshop. Square in front of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rome. Look, what expression ... I bought for the customer, but, I'm afraid, now I can not part. There was one 100% original Piranesi in that store, but I didn’t like it - a faded one ... "
Such a utilitarian approach to objects of art fits into the overall aesthetic concept of the architect Vsevolod Sosenkin. Despite the fact that in its interiors there are always references to the classics, and the decor of his own apartment with his head betrays his love for the cultural heritage of the Apennine Peninsula, the method of historical reconstruction is not close to him. Carved stone, bronze, plaster stucco, stone mosaic - this is not a complete list of the classic decoration techniques used in the interior of his apartment. And nevertheless, there is no feeling that I got into the museum hall: here a modern kitchen adjoins a classic sideboard, and a computer towers over an elegant bureau.
SALON: What did you strive for while working on your own apartment? She conceived as a gift to herself or was to become part of the image and, like a good booklet, demonstrate style preferences?
- This apartment was a kind of experiment. As a doctor who is experiencing a new vaccine, I decided to test on my own experience how comfortable it is in such a rich interior. On three levels of my own home, I wanted to try out a maximum of design techniques, test some ideas, achieve a critical mass in the decor.
S: Are you inspired by specific interiors?
“Even in this space full of historical quotations, I did not try to copy concrete classical examples. Reception of artificial aging of textures is also considered appropriate except in the design of restaurants. Instead, I prefer to bring something genuine, piece into the interior. In my apartment, for example, a lot of painting, made to order. The diptych "The Emperor's Triumph" by artist Zaviralin hangs in the living room - two groups of people walking, as it were, invite the guest to go inside the house. This picturesque couple has become an excellent alternative to tapestries that could hang on this place, and it looks no worse than any dusty tapestries of the 17th century.
S: If the creation of this interior was an experiment, how would you now characterize its result?
- The main conclusion I made for myself, having finished this interior, was that the Italian palazzo style, saturated on the verge of redundancy, has the right to exist in a city apartment. And whether it will be comfortable to live in such a house depends entirely on the personality of the owner.
