The building at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and the Moika Embankment was built in the middle of the 18th century by the famous Russian architect. There are two versions of who it could be. According to the first, the author is the architect Yuri Velten. According to the second, Jean-Baptiste Wallen-Delamot. But everything about the customer is known for certain: Nikolai Ivanovich Chicherin, "His Excellency Mr. Senator and General Police Chief." The newest history of the hotel began in 1993, when it was bought by the company "Taleon". The building was reconstructed and combined with several neighboring ones. On the top floor of the hotel is located the Taleon SPA SPA center with a 20-meter swimming pool, hammam, a font and even a salt cave.
