On the Byzantine range and worn luxury

"For me, the ideal style is eclectic. Because nowadays only one style cannot reflect the diversity of modern life. Ideas can be spied on from friends, in magazines, on trips, in books on interiors, to make something up. - this is your style of life. The house is the people who live in it, and I am against all this being subject to clear rules. I love my house, but it is not perfect. The interior cannot and should not be perfect, it should being in the development process all the time, because if he is completely it is finished and all the objects are in their places, it becomes somehow boring. It seems to me that in the house you need to finish, update, add, change something all the time. Why, for example, do not make a wall from the former guest room between the dining room and the kitchen? I never stop. There are a lot of unfinished spaces in which you can still do a lot of things. For example, I just can’t bring children to mind, they live their own lives.

Here Marusya still no curtains. The windows in the house are so complex that I just can’t get curtains for them.

We started rebuilding our house near Moscow seven years ago. In general, the idea to remake it arose during our trip to Provence to Emanuel Ungaro. We liked some things in his house so much that we wanted to change something in ours. His kitchen inspired my husband to change our old kitchen to a new one - big and beautiful. I feel very comfortable in the house of my friend Marriuchi Mandelli (the founder of the KRIZIA Fashion House). I think this is the most beautiful house in Sardinia. It is completely organic, the architecture is simple and clean lines. I think this is the best architectural solution for a house on the coast. Her house is perfect for me, but if I built a house for myself and my family, I would certainly have done something else.

I never focus on fashion trends: as a rule, what is trendy now will soon disappear from view. Therefore, I am inclined to traditional styles, to classics. I speak not only for myself, my husband and I have similar tastes. Our favorite Byzantine color scheme with maroon rich tones. It can be traced throughout the interior of the house - in the furniture, upholstered, in the drapes. I also like Lyon shawls: their gamma is especially pleasant. I love drawing Turkish cucumber. In general, I prefer things and objects aged in the spirit of worn-out luxury. "
