We met with Leopoldo Cavalli, co-owner of the Visionnaire brand, at the Milan exhibition, where the company presented the concept of a modern home, including the living room, dining room, bedroom

Leopoldo Cavalli: “We are now in the living room of the“ English Manor ”. This is an example of an interior concept where everything is thought out, right down to the patterned marble floor. The patterns on the marble tiles are made in the old technique of scalol (the ornament is engraved in a water-jet manner; the depressions are then filled with plaster mass and covered with silver leaf or gold). The fireplace portal appeals to the decorative themes of the Windsor Palace, and the chair resembles a wind chair, but this is his modern interpretation. In addition to the forms and ornaments, all the details are combined with metal decor — aged or chrome-plated brass. These are rings and ovals with the VISIONNAIRE logo, in style similar to the family coat of arms.

Today, the interior is no longer perceived as a setting (and only). A modern person wants more, it is important for him that his interior be individualized to the utmost, that it reflects his way of thinking, his philosophy ... We are close to this approach, we share these views. We think of life space as something directly related to the philosophy of life. In this case (and this is demonstrated by our exhibition project) we broadcast our ideas through the image of the Victorian manor in the modern era. I will not explain in detail, because here is an expressive visual range.

But you must admit, any serious concept, to be convincing, must be supported by something. In our case, this production is Made in Italy, high design, bespoke-inspired work. Besides, art has always been a source of inspiration for us. I will say more: the dialogue of art and design is the “DNA” of our brand. So, three years ago, in the flagship boutique at Piazza Cavour in Milan, we opened the Wunderkammer Visionnaire (loosely translated as “The Museum of Rarity Visionnaire”) - a project dedicated to modern art. And the project that you see here at the exhibition is inspired by the ancient interiors of the Victorian era. We seem to look at it from our time — hence the peculiarities of the artistic solution, and in particular, artistic freedom in dealing with the original. But in a different way for us, for today, it is already impossible. ”
