Designing the interior of this cinema, located on the third floor of a large private house, the designers proceeded from two prerequisites - the technical requirements and the conceived image of a bright, extravagant, slightly psychedelic seventies-style interior. "Visual and functional tasks were solved in parallel, and the project was the embodiment of a reasonable compromise between engineers and artists," recalls co-authors Marina Rafalson. A 7.1-inch home theater system based on ZINGALI studio speakers with a horn radiator made of wood sets the tone for the design of the entire room. A carefully selected set of audio-video equipment places high demands on the construction of the premises. To eliminate sound resonances, the ceiling is made of square gypsum boards covered with multi-layer lacquer painting like a flickering hologram, and through the gaps between the plates, light of 86 incandescent lamps penetrates the hall. Shimmering squares, as if descending from the ceiling, form the decoration of the end wall with a large projection screen on a rigid frame. Additional sources of lighting are also provided: built-in sconces, lamps in the bar, furniture lighting. To reduce unnecessary illumination when watching a movie, the walls of the entire room are painted in a deep dark blue color and seem to disappear when the light is off. During a session in the dark, only the screen and the illuminated niche in which the equipment is placed are visible. The CRT projector BARCO is located in the central part of the ceiling. The equipment in the home theater, as well as the complex lighting design is controlled by an integrated system CRESTRON.
