The watchtower of Pompejus stands in Halsteren, Dutch province of West Brabant. The tower received its name in honor of the first commander of the fortress, which was built here in 1627 to protect against the attacks of the Spaniards and the French. The fortress forts that made up the line of defense, began to rebuild ditches and canals in the 2010s for tourist purposes. Visually, all the forts were connected, from one tower you could see another.

The observation tower was restored exactly at the corner of the former fortress and, leaning forward over the moat, is aimed at the alleged enemy.

The tower stands 34 meters above the surrounding landscape. Upstairs offers a wide overview of 20 kilometers in all directions. The internal space is designed for 225 people.

The facade is divided into steel elements that were easy to transport and assemble, they cover the overall hybrid wooden-metal construction. The facade elements and stairs are made of Accoya acetylated wood.
