A spacious house with an area of ​​almost 560 square meters is designed for a large family. It is located on former sheep pastures, which determined the approach of the architects: in form, the house itself and the next studio resemble two traditional barns with low pitched roofs characteristic of New England. Views of Lake Chilmark and the Atlantic Ocean are attached.

Farm-shaped two-storey house of 200 square meters. m is located in wooded mountains at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. As the main material, the architects chose different widths of board from roughly treated larch, harmoniously fitting the building into the environment. In the interior decoration used the same tree, but in smooth-cut version.

3. Compass House from superkül. Canada, the city of Malmer in the province of Ontario. 2015

House area of ​​400 square meters. m on the Niagara Hills is designed for six people. It consists of two volumes, assembled around a central courtyard with an external fireplace. Customers lived in England for a long time and recently returned to Canada, so the name of their holiday residence, Compass, directly indicates the whole life course of the whole family. The white color of the building in the summer, in the spring and in the autumn is actively opposed to the surrounding greenery, and in the winter, on the contrary, allows to actively mimic the snow-covered landscape. The interiors are also many white surfaces, but in combination with warm wood.

The architects of the wooden house of 205 square meters. m decided to refresh the idea of ​​a local barn and modernize it, giving the shape of a stovepipe. But the chimney occupies only a small part of the open roof stretching to the full length, creating in the interior a fashionable overhead light. Such an unusual form of the building, according to the authors, not only pays tribute to the traditional architecture, but also conducts a dialogue with the volume of the neighboring church. A modest building intended for couples outside is covered with oil-treated larch, and oak is used in the interior.

The tiny house of 82 square meters. m is located on the edge of a forest glade. Thanks to the wooden decoration, it dissolves in the environment and does not violate its natural integrity. But here, too, the authors managed to give the archetypical hut a modern luster due to the sloping walls, tapering in the lower part and almost completely glazed frontal facade: thus, the building looks particularly impressive in the dark. Light and “soft” interior trim along with a darker and more severe shell is designed to create a sense of security in a capricious natural environment.

One of two small houses (135 and 114 sq. M.) In the suburbs of Copenhagen is an example of affordable and at the same time eco-friendly housing. Larch-sewn volume accommodates a high, bright living room in the center, two steels on one side and a master bedroom with a bathroom on the other. Shed roof allows you to organize and additional zones on the second tier. The cost of such typical housing will be about 235 thousand pounds sterling.

7. Farmhouse from Cutler Anderson Architects. USA, State of Pennsylvania, Lakewood Village. 2017

The architects designed and built a new four-bedroom house on an existing family farm. Area built almost 280 square meters. The main distinguishing feature of the seemingly simple and laconic white house was unexpectedly large windows and movable shutters-screens in the entire height of the walls. Thanks to them, the owners can as much as possible open the inner space of the unfolding nature and the sun, and completely retire. Air conditioning in this low-cost home is not enough to close the shutters in the heat so that the temperature dropped by several degrees at once.

8. House in Shatura from the Bureau Le Atelier. Russia, Shatura. 2016

The house is almost 220 sq. M. m in Shatura near Moscow - the result of a creative experiment. The buildings surrounding it are not so organized that a brick “castle” in the style of the 1990s, a wooden blockhouse, and a strange samostroy, to which the premises were attached randomly from the materials at hand, coexist on the same street. The authors of the project tried to find a style synthesized by this strange environment. As a result, three volumes were combined in one design: one is lined with brick, the second with wood and the third with tiles. The central volume is occupied by a public guest space with a kitchen, while the side spaces are used for a bedroom, technical rooms and children's rooms.
