Profitable house merchant I.D. Pigita on the Garden Ring, better known as the Bulgakov House, is truly a landmark place for the capital and one of the most famous examples of
The long years of the existence of an apartment in the communal format did not have the best effect on her condition, and the designers had to remove this cultural layer first. The redevelopment has turned the apartment into a comfortable and functional space in the center of the metropolis. The planning solution combines the classical principles of strict symmetry and modern approach to the organization of space. You can get into private apartments (master and guest bedrooms, study, dressing room, bathrooms), only bypassing the public area. It represents a single volume in which the kitchen is separated from the living room by a light wooden partition.
The living room is divided into two functional areas - television and fireplace. “We saw the fireplace as an indispensable element of the interior in the spirit of old Moscow, creating the mood of home warmth and comfort. During the restoration work, we discovered an old chimney, and it became clear that the house was not only stylistically, but also functionally predisposed to the appearance of a real fireplace here, ”says
Geometry of stucco facade decoration is continued in the strict pattern of natural oak parquet. Due to the special composition of the coating, the oak has retained its natural wheat tone. In tone of the floor, wall wooden panels (buazeri) are made, with which the decorative wall in the public area is sheathed. Fireplace portal, textiles and wheat tone. Gentle milky and beige tones dominate in the decoration of the master and guest bedrooms. The beige-ocher range is complemented by red-brown shades of English paper wallpaper and leather upholstered furniture in the living room, as well as an apron and a table-top made of marble emperador dark in the kitchen. “At the beginning of the last century, Melach tile, imitating natural mosaic, came into fashion. We decided to use it to emphasize the authenticity of the interior. However, we did not find the necessary option and recreated the laying of tiles using real marble mosaics, ”says Yuri.
Contrast to the interior is brought in by small blotches of black color, appearing in the elements of wooden and wrought-iron furniture, in lamps. Modern-style chandeliers harmoniously coexist with neo-baroque lamps or classic chandeliers-lanterns. “The task of the author,” says Yuri, “is to maintain the interior in a strict style, because it is your language that conveys to the viewer your thought, script, knowledge and feeling.” The combination of furniture from different eras, antique engravings and accessories create the desired atmosphere of a Moscow house with traditions, the interior of which evolved over decades.
