How the building, conceived as a small entertainment center (for owners and visiting friends), evolved into a spacious, but cozy and completely full-fledged house, tell its architects Andris Kulikov and Anton NepershinAndris Kulikov: The story of the emergence of this country house begins with the idea of "fighting boredom." On the estate, spontaneously formed at the time of the main house and guest, it was decided to create a private equestrian sports complex. The complex should have included five garages, a stable, a home cinema, a bowling alley, a sauna, housing for security and maintenance personnel. But the controversial life of the building itself was such that, when the box and the roof had already been erected, instead of the entertainment center, the customer wanted a residential building. We tried to harmoniously fit the appearance of the structure into the exterior. The facade was decorated with different materials: the first floor - brick and white plaster, the second floor - wood. The bypass gallery underlining the facade rests on columns and is covered with a dark brown roof. The natural landscape has set its external parameters: the house, as it were, is spread in the environment. Without changing the main volumes of the building, we redid the interiors. So, the stable was redesigned into the dining room, leaving two-light space. Instead of bowling lanes now home cinema, sauna and gym.Anton Nepershin: The allotted land was swampy, so we settled on the construction of the foundation of the house in the form of a monolithic slab on a pile foundation. The combination of brick and wood created certain technical difficulties: they shrink differently, because wood is a capricious material (therefore, the rafters of the roof, which rest on both brick and wooden walls, had to be put on temporary supports).A.K .: At first the customer wanted a house in the style of American country, but we quickly moved away from this idea. At the time when the image of the future object was created, together with colleagues and students of the 1st year MARCHI we measured the architectural monument of constructivism of the Bakhmetyevsky garage of architect K.S. Melnikov. We used the bright planning method of stepwise displacement of volumes in solving the garage and in our project. The main facade is decorated with a suite of columns. This mixture of styles confirmed the historical analogy - from constructivism to the Empire. The interior also has allusions to the history of art: for example, the marble floor "in memory of Malevich."A.N .: In the middle of the living room on the floor with black marble laid out the boundaries of the "black square", and in the center - another square, on which stands a pillar (bearing element). Decorated with the same marble, it is as if it “grows” from the floor. Here, the "flicker" of the square is everywhere. The appearance of squares in a fireplace lining focuses attention on it, despite the fact that it is smaller in size than it should be. But we used theatrical technique - change of scale, and mating geometric forms play the role of actors.Andris Kulikov: "Here, echoes of different styles are combined - American country and Soviet architecture of the 1920s. In general, the architecture of the house is very monumental. It allows owners to fill the interiors with furniture to their own taste. The building is integrated into the environment. There is a forest with walkways around, channels with bridges ... "
