The British called prim, and after that eccentrics. The main crank of modern design Philip Stark came up with a surrealistic interior for a hotel in the center of the British capital

Known fact: designer and decorator Philip Stark loves provocation. They were to taste and Salvador Dali, who rode around the house on a bicycle and attempted to eat his guests. Probably, if these two met, they would immediately find a common language. At least this is the impression left by their “meeting” at the Sanderson Hotel in London’s Soho. In the interior of the hotel Philip Stark embodied the dreams of surrealism, so beloved Dali. In this creative union, by the way, was the third - the French artist and playwright Jean Cocteau, whose grotesque worlds stirred the minds of the intelligentsia in the first half of the XX century. The interior of Sanderson vividly recalls Cocteau’s creative tricks. Look at least at the furniture of strange sleek forms, as if born in the subconscious. In Stark's subconscious. All furnishings and interior textiles are created according to the designer’s sketches. Carpets, for example, were his variation on the theme of paintings of the High Renaissance, in particular the works of Filippo Lippi. Stark, by the way, decided that the walls of the room were completely unnecessary, and designed the hotel’s rooms as one-light studios with a bathroom in a glass case.

The interior of the main restaurant of the hotel with the Malaysian name Suka and the Malaysian cuisine was occupied by Asian designer India Madavi. The restaurant is run by a New York chef Zack Palacio.

For entertainment to go far away. In the Aqua SPA-center, which is also called the bathhouse in the antique style, a complex of anti-aging procedures and gymnastics classes is offered. And since June, the hotel hosts a real music festival, organized jointly with the record company Modular Recordings.
