One of the best views of the Bavarian capital opens from the roof of the famous hotel “Mandarin Oriental Munich” - from the pool. The fact is that the hotel is located in the very center of the city: you just have to walk a couple of lanes (bypassing, by the way, the famous Munich beer house Hofbräuhaus) - and you find yourself on the main square, Marienplatz. The hotel was organized in the building of the former opera. It is, as usual, high and with a dome. When the building was altered as a hotel, a pool was made on the roof. So, if you find yourself in Munich in the summer, you are welcome: a bird's-eye view of the city is provided. By the way, the Alps surrounding the Bavarian capital are also visible.
The city's opera house, now the Mandarin Oriental Munich Hotel, was built in 1880. As a result, the facade and interiors responded to the canons of the neo-Renaissance style that was popular at that time - one of the manifestations of the prevailing interest in past eras. Local classicism (compared to the original French) was distinguished by German thoroughness and, as a minus, by heaviness. Tinkering with the building as a hotel, the national renaissance decided to “revive” a little. So, the classic German architecture of the end of the 19th century found ... Asian allusions. Mandarin Oriental is an international hotel chain, originally Asian. Hotels located around the world, from New York to London, are decorated with an eye to Eastern architecture and interior design - such a piece of Asia in the Americas and in Europe.
Hotel restaurants are focused on European cuisine. In Mark’s (the restaurant is marked by a Michelin guide), they cook depending on the season: berry desserts in the summer, vegetable stews and lamb in the fall (served with fresh wine). In Bistro MO - exquisite French cuisine, and in the Mandarin Bar arrange afternoon tea in the English way, with excellent pastries for dessert.
