The style of Louis XV combines the solemnity of the Baroque and the capricious intimacy of Rococo. It is relevant now, but it is notable for its pleasant lack of modernity.
The author of this project Nadezhda Chernigov shared her observation with us: when the customer asks to design the interior in a classic style, more often he means by classics Style Louis XV. And it is not surprising, because this style has luxury without pomposity, ornateness without pretentiousness and general mood elevation. Therefore, the stylistic dominant in the design of this Moscow apartment is Louis XV, because the owners wanted the interior to be ceremonial and cozy at the same time. Of course, there was no need to carefully reproduce this style, here we see more variations on rococo themes, something like the Paris Ritz (see the article "Perfect Garcon Hotel", SALON-interior N1 (79) 2004). Moreover, special attention is paid to the original decorative solutions, color, light. The selection of finishes and upholstery took a lot of time - the author achieved the perfect effect, when every texture, every shade and ornament is in its place and play in full force.
Each room has its own color concept and character. The living room is dominated by light colors and gold, and a variety of palettes is achieved due to peach-golden silk, which is upholstered in buazeri, and coldish gray-blue shades of velvet sofas. According to Hope ChernigovMost often, customers want to see beige or cream in the design of the rooms, which is quite logical - these colors really fit classic interiors. But the decorator can offer more unusual and at the same time no less pleasant shades. In addition, rococo is characterized by an unusual color for modern perception - such combinations of colors are not typical of our days, in which the author of the project sees the additional attractiveness of that era. But this does not mean that sharp contrasts are used in the interior. On the contrary, the game of shades and textures is emphasized soft and harmonious.
Contrasting solutions are used in the office - a purely masculine space, where bright accents are set against the dark wood of the buazeri, which gives a special saturation to the interior. By the way, the author considers the boiserie one of the most topical types of finishing today. First, the panels of expensive wood, beautifully decorated, look parade, perform a representative function, which is indispensable for the living room or the same room. Secondly, the boiserie is very functional, because under them you can hide all the equipment and communications, so that they do not violate the stylistic unity. In this apartment boiserie added columns that give even more solemnity to the interior. And, of course, the key elements of decoration - stucco and carved gold-plated parts, thanks to which the apartment looks almost like a palace chambers. So that the richness of the ornaments and reliefs did not turn into pomp and pretentiousness, careful calculation was needed - every detail and shade are verified.
Nadezhda Chernigov: "Customers were inspired by my previous work, which was published, for example, in the magazine SALON-interior, and they turned to me as a specialist in classical interiors in the spirit of baroque and rococo."
